Mia Hansen-Løve at Istanbul Modern

  • Istanbul Modern 1 Hamam Sokak İstanbul, 34425 Türkiye (map)

Istanbul Modern Cinema is hosting Mia Hansen-Løve, one of the emerging auteurs of recent European cinema. Hansen-Løve began her directing career at the age of 25 with All Is Forgiven (2007). Following this striking debut, she added seven more feature films to her repertoire. Hansen-Løve frees her films from the burden of narrative and focuses on the mood of her characters, for which she often draws inspiration from the lives of people she knows. She uses an elegant cinematic language where the setting and landscape act as silent characters. The program presents both feature films and shorts from Hansen-Løve’s filmography, as well as a live, online conversation with the director herself to be held in the auditorium.
