Seismographic Dance

  • La Gaîté Lyrique 3bis Rue Papin Paris, IDF, 75003 France (map)

Every Tuesday, the Seismographic Dance workshops offer an introduction to somatic exploration by combining it with choreographic composition.

In dance, the Corps Seismograph® method offers various choreographic composition tools based on an awareness of perceptions, sensations, emotions, as well as each person's imagination. Participants are invited to get moving starting from their current states, most of the time to music. The objective is to support everyone in discovering their uniqueness and their way of dancing. No prior skills are therefore required and Charlotte and Chloé, alongside the distribution of Art & Food breakfasts, take care to take into account the physical and moral state of each participant!

Charlotte first trained in theater at Studio JLMB in Paris before integrating dance into her practice. She mixes dance with singing and acting in her various projects and explores new creative territories using the Corps Seismograph® method. She works in particular with the companies Espère Un Peu and Ethics Angels, and the Grand Mistère festival, integrating instant composition into her creations.

Chloé was introduced to various dance techniques from a very young age - African, modern jazz, hip hop - before continuing her training at the Montreuil Conservatory and in performing arts, extending her research on "new spectator experiences". She has created several pieces based on field studies and testimonies. She co-founded the association Les Immersives, which aims to combine art and science by reconnecting with life.

Art & Food is a food distribution in cultural places in Paris Center supported by La Chorba and The Salvation Army Foundation. The objective of this system is to nourish the body and mind by offering a balanced breakfast, a takeaway lunchbox and a cultural activity. Launched in January 2021 at the Gaîté Lyrique, in the midst of a health crisis, the Art & Food system now constitutes a solidarity network anchored in the various participating cultural institutions.
